Injection Molding Technician is responsible for proper shut down of machines, basic machine controls, maintaining the molding process standards to achieve specified part quality, and maintaining cycle efficiencies within a designated zone. The Injection Molding Technician will own the shift and utilize Zone Leads to report against Quality specifications conformance and non-technical concerns. The Injection Molding Technician is a key contributor to the continuous improvement of plant performance metrics.


  • Plan and execute daily schedule to achieve daily plan objectives
    • Work Cell Set Up
    • Machine startups as directed
    • Prepare auxiliary equipment in advance and communicate potential delays
    • Execute schedule timely to avoid subsequent order delays in the schedule
  • Maintain stability of machines to achieve standard cycle and meet quality specifications using the pre-determined process parameter spec sheets.
  • Perform proper and timely shutdown of equipment experiencing machine, mold and/or quality issues.
  • Remain compliant to all Standard Work processes documented throughout facility
  • Record and identify root cause analysis for single and multiple downtime intervals.
  • Report to countermeasure board for reviews and implement countermeasures as required resulting in preventative measures
  • Understand what it takes to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) targets: Zone Utilization, Efficiency, and Production Unscheduled Downtime

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review production schedule for daily production plan.
  • Perform proper machine startups (as requested), restarts and shutdowns.
  • Ensure the process remains to the pre-determined standard parameters throughout the production run
  • Determine and execute quality issue resolution; if unresolved proper machine shut down is required.
  • Proper documentation of all process parameters adjusted is required for any reason (quality, cycle time, etc.)
  • Identify and remove purge to collection area properly for recycling
  • Perform process parameter log standard work.
  • Report to Countermeasure Board at assigned times.
  • Observe all safety and environmental protocols.
  • Remain in designated zone.
  • Meet with incoming Zone Process Tech for shift changeover



  • The individual must have at least 3 years of experience as an Injection Molding Process Tech with Plastics Manufacturing.
  • Ability to use Computers and learn ERP System (IQMS)
  • Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude with root cause analysis understanding
  • Decision making skills are critical; know when Engineering is required to troubleshoot and resolve
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
